Kidney Equity Initiative
Global Programs
Kidney Health Education Across Communities.
Kidney health challenges cross borders, but effective education must reflect the communities it serves.
Kidney Equity Initiative works to expand access to understandable, evidence-based kidney health education through community-centered programs. Our approach emphasizes local collaboration, adaptable educational materials, and programs designed around the needs of the people they serve.
Our work is built around a shared goal—making kidney health education understandable and accessible—while allowing the way we teach and engage to reflect each community.

School-Based Education
One mission. Locally responsive education.
Effective kidney health education begins with understanding what communities already know and where knowledge gaps exist. We use community insight, educational assessment, and locally responsive approaches to develop and improve kidney health education for different audiences and learning environments.
01 — Understand the Community
We consider the audience, educational setting, existing knowledge, and barriers to accessing understandable kidney health information.
02 — Adapt the Education
Educational materials and teaching approaches can be adjusted for language, age, learning environment, and community context while preserving core kidney health concepts.
03 — Learn & Improve
Feedback and educational assessments help identify what participants understand, where knowledge gaps remain, and how future programs can be improved.
LOCAL CONTEXT SHAPES HOW WE TEACH — NOT OUR COMMITMENT TO ACCURATE, EVIDENCE-BASED KIDNEY HEALTH EDUCATION
Measuring What Participants Learn.
We use educational assessments and participant feedback to understand what participants learn through our educational programs and where those programs can improve. By comparing knowledge before and after education, we can identify changes in understanding and use those findings to strengthen future programming.
01 — Before
Assess baseline understanding of key kidney health concepts.
02 — After
Measure changes in knowledge following the educational program.
03 — Improve
Use assessment results and participant feedback to strengthen future education.
